The Queens Courier wrote a story about a new bill that has passed the city legislature that requires property owners to clean up graffi within 35 to 50 days. Property owners can call on the city to do the cleaning. If they don’t clean it within 50 days, the city will arrange for it to be done. But owners are able to tell the city they don’t want it cleaned within the 50-day period.
Council passes graffiti cleanup bill

A bill passed by the City Council on Wednesday, September 30, which is expected to be signed into law by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, will soon make it easier for the city to clean up graffiti by removing the step requiring property owners to sign a waiver to allow the city to clean graffiti from their building.
